about

Diamondhead was a project started by LEM and me.
We were joined on occasion by Derek Rogers on drums and other folks showed up sometimes. The Godz on NYC's ESP Label were a big influence, I also recall Flying Nun, Badfinger and early Bob Seeger records in rotation. LEM had a background with Naturaliste, Arnoux, and Simon Joyner's backing band, The Fallen Men. He introduced me to stuff like The Shadow Ring, Refrigerator, and The Dead C. My background was more entrenched in the indie rock ghetto and a few oddities like Richard and Linda Thompson and Alex Chilton solo records. With us living in the same apartment complex, tip topping wine boxes, and jamming endlessly in apartments/houses/practice spaces, we created Diamondhead. I'm still not sure what we were aiming for, but what I do know is that there is a 'HEAT' to the recordings.

ego death.

Diamondhead Discog:

Disconnected phantom psych blues, that's what this is. How much alcohol was involved is anybody's guess. - RKF

Amusing stuff, absolutely no charade. - Massimo Ricci

Throbbing rhythms and loopy experimentalism trade body blows. No one wins, but it sounds really cool. - Jon Worley

There's good times and bad all laced-up and ready go into a pit of magnetic glory. pro-dubbed & snubbed.” - Animal Psi
